Welcome to WARM

WARM is an organization of midwives, birth advocates and consumers within Washington state, the surrounding Pacific Northwest and beyond. We are dedicated to ensuring high-quality maternity care options by advancing classical midwifery skills and knowledge among all types of midwives and improving cooperation between all levels of care providers. Our agenda includes educational opportunities, peer reviews, and legislative efforts.

How WARM Supports Midwives

Protecting Autonomy

We stand firm for a broad, open scope of midwifery practice and families’ freedom to choose where and how they birth.

Supporting Variations of Normal

We support midwives who serve variations of normal, including breech and twins, when care is grounded in training, experience, and informed choice.

Peer Review & Accountability

We provide Washington‑approved peer review and incident‑consultation structures that focus on learning, safety, and professional growth (Meeting Washington LM, Oregon LDM and CPM requirements).

Community & Collaboration

We connect midwives, students, and birth workers across Washington and the Pacific Northwest to share knowledge, resources, and support.
